Girl Ran Away was born out of creator Erin Thormodsgard’s love for old things and a need to create. It started back in 2008 with a few tools and only a couple styles of jewelry. It has grown steadily and organically over the last few years into a full time passion. It started out with one girl and her spoon and continues to adapt and grow with new “Spoon Sisters” joining the crew. It has been home-grown from a front porch studio, to an office space and eventually to the biggest adventure yet a full working studio and retail shop. There are many facets to Girl Ran Away including an online shop, numerous art shows throughout the year, wholesale accounts all over the US, and the flagship shop in the heart Miles City, MT.
Our shop is located in the heart of Miles City, MT. It is a historic building that was built in 1904 and has held a grocery store, a plumbing outfit, a music shop, and antique shop, a bakery, and now we are fortunate enough to call it home. From its brick exterior to its original tin tile ceiling it exudes old beauty much like the materials we use to make our jewelry. It was love at first sight. The shop features all of our hand made jewelry and creations and is accented with items from many Montana vendors and unique products. Among the jewelry are soaps and body products, bags, journals, home decor, undergarments, cards, and many other wonderful hand picked items.
We enjoy doing many types of different custom orders. It is fun to take something treasured and sentimental and turn it into a functional wearable piece. We can take whole sets of heirloom silverware and make something for the entire family. We also can take bits and pieces of heirloom and broken jewelry and assemble them into a one of a kind necklace or bracelet. We can customize any of our products to suit with letter stamping. We offer discounts on large orders for weddings etc. To start your own custom order, please send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org.
